Discover the MENA region

From the Atlantic coast to the Indian Ocean; from the Sahara Desert to the Mediterranean Sea, the Middle East and North Africa has the potential to be one of the most exciting, distinctive and rewarding tourism areas anywhere in the world.

Combining long-established tourist destinations with those still waiting to be discovered, the MENA region stretches nearly 6,500kms from west to east, embracing more than 20 countries.

Still heavily influenced by Arab traditions and the Islamic faith, the Middle East and North Africa has a multitude of attractions to offer its visitors.

Welcome to the MENA region. Marhaba!

Uprisings and unrest have been affecting tourism to many parts of the Middle East and North Africa since the start of 2011.

While many countries in the region are entirely safe to visit (even those where there have been protests) it’s understandable that potential holidaymakers may have concerns.

With travel advice for individual countries changing by the day, even by the hour, MENATA highly recommends the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office website which offers the most up-to-date travel and security advice for UK citizens.
